RCNi, a digital health information company which supports best practice in the nursing profession and is wholly-owned by the Royal College Nursing, has announced details of a new and dynamic event for everyone who works in nursing, Nursing Live.

Hosted over two days (November 10th-11th) at the ACC complex in Liverpool, and with a focus on both the professional and personal development of nurses at every stage of their careers, Nursing Live will be the first event of its kind for the sector.

Bringing together thousands of nurses from across the country, Nursing Live will be packed with over 100 CPD sessions, expert talks, master classes, clinical demonstrations, and much more. It will provide practical and evidence-based insight into the clinical, professional and personal challenges faced by all nurses. Further, it will give nurses the chance to meet, network, and share best practice with their colleagues and peers.

Nursing Live - which will be free for nurses at every level and from all sectors - will see industry leaders making keynote presentations about the future of nursing and social care. Joining them will be high profile advocates giving talks about their support for the nursing profession, and why they value the work of nurses.

As well as enhancing professional development and highlighting new career pathways, Nursing Live will feature special themed areas devoted to the latest developments in clinical practice, medtech, pharmaceuticals, and digital health. These will be complemented by cross-cutting topics including learning and skills, leadership, innovation, and sustainability.

In addition, delegates will get the chance to access personal wellbeing support, receive practical self-care advice - and enjoy free activities such as yoga classes – all designed specifically for nurses. A vibrant Festival Zone will also act as a hub of live entertainment, socialising, informal networking, and fun.

To ensure all CPD provision, presentations, and wellbeing elements of the event are aligned to the needs of the profession, RCNi - which publishes Nursing Standard and ten other authoritative industry journals – will be working with a group of advisors and advocates who will be supporting the development of the event.

The cohort will include nurses at various stages of their careers, specialists from different clinical settings, senior industry leaders, and members of the RCNi editorial team.

RCNi’s Senior Nurse Editor Dr Richard Hatchett said: “Having spoken to nurses from all sections of the profession, it’s clear that an event which combines professional and personal development, together with self-care guidance and lifestyle content designed specifically for nurses, will be a very welcome addition to the nursing calendar. Alongside talks from leading industry experts, high quality CPD sessions, and all the latest clinical and technological breakthroughs, it’s also fantastic that we’ll be welcoming high-profile advocates from outside of the profession to join us in Liverpool. We look forward to seeing you there”

Nursing Live advisory board spokesperson Joanne Bosanquet MBE, who is Chief Executive of The Foundation Of Nursing Studies, said: “From undergraduate, newly registered and early career nurses to those with many years of experience, Nursing Live’s advisory group is representative of the whole nursing profession. By working closely with other healthcare professionals, clinical specialists and industry experts, it will ensure every aspect of the event adds real value to the professional and personal development of all delegates.”

Tickets to Nursing Live will be available from the end of May.
