Vanessa Taylor

Vanessa Taylor is professor of cancer and palliative care and director of practice and care partnerships at the University of Huddersfield. As professor of cancer and palliative care, her scholarship activities focus on workforce development. She was lead author for the RCN Career and Education Framework for Cancer Nursing and the Health Education England (HEE) (Yorkshire and the Humber) End of Life Care Learning Outcomes. In 2022, she chaired the steering group for the HEE Centre for Advancing Practice Palliative and End of Life Care credential. She is a steering group member of the national ACCEND programme and has led the development of the ‘Career pathway, core cancer capabilities in practice and education framework for the nursing and allied health professional workforce’. Professor Taylor is also working with NHS England to establish a career pathway and education framework for palliative and end of life care.
