Suman Shrestha MBE is a consultant nurse in critical care at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. He is also a qualified advanced critical care practitioner and associate member of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. He has a wide range of clinical, managerial and academic experience and is a professional lead for critical care at the Royal College of Nursing. He is also a former chair of the UK Critical Care Nursing Alliance. He is a board member of the Centre for Perioperative Care and represents the RCN at various other national committees such as FICM Critical Care Leadership Forum, UK Critical Care Nursing Alliance, Intensive Care Society (Standards and Guidelines Committee) and Royal College of Physicians (Independent Advisory Group for NEWS2). He is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Brighton. He has led initiatives improving care for patients with sepsis and has also worked with NICE, NHSE, AoMRC and NCEPOD on various sepsis workstreams.
