Rohit Sagoo
Children's nurse, founder and director of British Sikh Nurses
Mr Sagoo is a children’s nurse and a PhD student at the University of Bedfordshire. He qualified as a children’s nurse in the late 1990s and practised around hospitals based in London for ten years; after that, he taught in further and higher education.
In 2016, he started a grassroots community organisation – British Sikh Nurses, which addresses the health and well-being needs of the South Asian community and supports the development of qualified nurses. The organisation has raised awareness of organ and stem cell donation, mental health, promoting healthy lifestyle choices, and supporting the community during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2021, Mr Sagoo won the Royal College Of Nursing Leadership Award and a London Faith & Belief Award in 2018. He also won a Point of Light award from the prime minister in 2020. He has appeared on several Asian TV Channels, BBC TV, and Asian Radio channels promoting health and well-being.
