Katie Edwards is an adult nurse with many years’ nursing experience, working in various settings such as acute cardiac surgery, community and oncology. She has predominantly worked as an immunotherapy specialist nurse, working as part of a team to provide education and training to healthcare professionals throughout the UK, specialising in immunotherapy drugs/toxicity and clinical decision-making.

Her interest in practice education and teaching has led her to her current role as senior lecturer in practice learning at Liverpool John Moores University, were she supports placement expansion through civic engagement. She helps to set up, facilitate and support students in non-clinical settings to provide unique experiences and an understanding of the wider determinants of health, which is invaluable to their learning. She has a passion for student experience and practice learning, looking for ways to enhance this, with a special interest in quality assurance.
