Jenny Stewart is skills and simulation coordinator at the University of Chester. After undertaking a nursing diploma at the University of Sheffield, she worked in cardiothoracic surgery and adult critical care at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trustwit and completed amy BSc in adult critical care. In 2003 Ms Stewart began training and working as an advanced nurse practitioner in the surgical team, withhich had an elective colorectal specialty and general surgical emergency workload. She completed a non-medical prescribing qualification and an MSc in advanced clinical practice.
While working as an advanced practitioner she presented work nationally and internationally, and was publishedshed in nursing and medical journals. In 2012 she relocated to Chester and worked as part of the colorectal nursing team. Her role was split between advanced practice and a cancer nurse specialist role. She joined the University of Chester early in 2016 to teach onwithin the postgraduate non-medical prescribing and advanced clinical practice MSc programmes. Ms Stewart has been the programme leader for both programmes, and led the review and redesign of each to ensure successful validations, accreditations and reaccreditations.
