Angela Eze
Practice development lead for postgraduate education
Institute of Care Excellence
My name is Angela Eze, I am a highly experienced NMC-registered adult nurse with a master’s in public health. I have worked in a wide variety of clinical specialties and public health for 17 years. Currently, I am working in the Institute of Care Excellence at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust as the practice development lead for postgraduate education.
My role includes coordination of the delivery of the quality preceptorship programme, and clinical and pastoral support to newly qualified nurses, internationally educated nurses, nursing associates, operating theatre practitioners and return to practice nurses in line with the National Preceptorship Framework and NMC guidelines.
I am an advocate of quality improvement and I am passionate about education and research. I completed the Chief Nurse Fellowship (2023) and NIHR Integrated Clinical Academic programme (2024); and my project on the ‘Role of Medicine Link Nurse in Reducing Medication Omissions’ won the ‘Poster of the day award’ for day two at the RCN International Nursing Research Conference 2024
Before joining NUH, I worked in clinical settings and public health abroad leading large national public health programmes on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, gender, sexual and reproductive health, vaccine programmes and non-communicable diseases. I have held consultancy positions with the Global Fund, World Health Organization, UNICEF and Family Health International.
I am dedicated to the continual improvement of patient care through learning new skills, developing existing ones and transferring these skills to colleagues in practice.
