and RCN Nurse of the Year 2020
Ana Waddington is the paediatric critical care outreach team lead and Martha’s Rule lead at the Royal London Hospital, with more than nine years of experience in prehospital, emergency and trauma care. She is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children and young people. She recently completed an NHS England pilot to establish a rough sleeper outreach service in Camden, where she honed her skills in communication and supporting vulnerable populations. In 2020, she was named RCN Nurse of the Year for founding an organisation that empowers young people in London by teaching life-saving skills through workshops. Under her leadership, the organisation has grown from one to nine employees in just five years, reaching more than 4,000 young people aged 12-25. Passionate about advocacy, Ms Waddington aims to inspire nurses to pursue innovative roles and turn their ideas into initiatives with impact.
